Visions in Motion

運動体とは、時間の経過とともに空間内の位置が変化する現象や活動と定義し、動機（motive）となる題材（motif）を見つけ、日々の実践を遂行するための知見や方法論を探索します。ラースロー?モホイ＝ナジ（1947）の言葉に基づき、知性と感情を、社会的要素と技術的要素のバランスを取った状態に保つことを出発点とし、アイデアを具体化するプロセスを検証し、公開することを目指します。 手法としては、クリティカル?サイクリングが自転車に乗ることを批評的に捉えている点に着目し、このプロジェクトでは何らかの「運動体」に関連する実践が、芸術的、社会的、学術的な意義を持つかどうかを検証します。 2024年度は、複合施設である大垣市スイトピアセンターのメディアアート事業において、IAMAS の教員?学生による運動体設計プロジェクトメンバーが参画し「うごき」をテーマにした新作を発表しました。そのほか、前期後期を通じて研究参加者各自による実践をクリティカル?サイクリングのWEBサイトへ記事として公開しました。
A moving body is defined as: with the passing of time the phenomenon or activity that changes the body’s position in space, and finding motifs that become motives; exploring methodologies and insights to perform daily practices. Based on the words of Moholy-Nagy Laszlo (1947), the starting point is to keep intellect and emotions in balance with social and technical elements, with the objective of validating and exposing the process of materializing ideas. As for the methodology, there is a focus on “”Critical Cycling’s”” critical view of bicycle riding, and this project examines whether practices related to some kind of “”kinetic body”” have artistic, social, or academic significance. In FY 2024, IAMAS faculty and student members participated in the planning of the “Visions in Motion” project at the media art project of the Ogaki City Suitopia Center, a complex facility, and presented a new artwork based on the theme of “movement.” Aside from that, throughout the first and second terms, each individual researcher’s practice was publicised in the form of an article on the Critical Cycling website.
